Bulan Pengguna Kebangsaan 2011, organised by the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism (KPDNKK), generally attracted members of the public of all ages. The objective of the exhibition was to inculcate positive consumerism and awareness among the Malaysian consumers.
We participated in the event as part of BNM’s booth, also with Agensi Kaunseling dan Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK) and Financial Mediation Bureau (FMB). The booth was managed by staffs from the four organisations, helping each other to disseminate information.
Managed to distribute about 500 of PIDM’s brochures and briefed the visitors on DI and TIPS matters. We gave away the PIDM “jelly” pens as a thank-you token for those who visited the booth. Overall, we received generally positive response about the protection by PIDM and our involvement in the exhibition as part of our public outreach initiative.
