Member institutions under the Malaysian Deposit Insurance system are all commercial banks (foreign banks operating in Malaysia) and finance companies licensed under the Banking and Financial Institutions Act 1989 (BAFIA) and all Islamic banks licensed under the Islamic Banking Act 1983 (IBA).
Member institutions are required to prominently display a sign (decal) at their business premises to indicate membership in PIDM.
