OVERVIEW
Bank Negara Malaysia ("BNM") and Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia ("PIDM") have established a policy framework to implement recovery and resolution planning (“RRP”) for financial institutions in Malaysia. The RRP framework seeks to put in place an effective and efficient process to enhance supervisability, recoverability and resolvability of financial institutions, by incorporating essential RRP elements into the domestic regulatory, supervisory and resolution regimes.
BNM is the lead authority in recovery planning while PIDM is the lead authority in resolution planning.
