Scholarship Details

The scholarship is awarded to annually to up to 20 eligible Malaysian students and supports up to four years of local undergraduate study.

Who Can Apply

  • Malaysian citizens below 25 years old (as of 1 January 2026).
  • Students who have completed or are in the final semester of Pre-University.
  • Students who have already started an undergraduate degree may also apply.

Academic Requirements

  • SPM: Minimum 5As (including credits in Bahasa Melayu & English).
  • STPM/A-Levels: Minimum 2As; OR
  • Foundation / Matriculation / Diploma: Minimum CGPA 3.50
  • For students currently pursuing an undergraduate program: Must meet the above requirements and maintain CGPA 3.50.

Other Conditions

  • Must be a full-time student (admitted or awaiting placement) into a course related to PIDM’s business, recognised by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), at a university in Malaysia and approved by PIDM.
  • Applicants must demonstrate an inability to pursue the course without financial assistance.
  • Not a recipient of any other scholarship or financial aid.
  • No history of scholarship termination due to disciplinary action.
  • Preference given to top universities listed in Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings (“QS”) and Times Higher Education Rankings (“THE”) rankings.

Important Notice

Applications will only be considered if all eligibility criteria, approved field of study, and the list of PIDM-recognised universities are met.

PIDM reserves the right to change terms and conditions or reject applications at its sole discretion. No appeal will be entertained.

  • Up to RM20,000 a year in course fees or the actual cost, whichever is lower.
  • Up to RM2,000 in allowances for learning aids including books, computer, stationeries and other materials per semester or up to RM4,000 per year.
  • Up to a maximum of RM9,000 allowance per year or RM750 per month.
  • There will be no bond to this scholarship and the recipients are not required to repay the amount of scholarship awarded.
  • Mentoring and Coaching
    Our readily available pool of mentors, drawn from PIDM’s own workforce as well as scholars’ alumnus are available to all scholars in providing support, consistent and continuous mentoring and coaching throughout the programme. Scholars can tap and leverage on the experiences from the mentoring pool.
  • Internship Programme
    As part of the strategic design of the programme, graduates may be offered paid internship opportunities in PIDM to apply what they have learned in an operational context (subject to a minimum ‘Cumulative Grade Point Average’ (CGPA) of 3.00 or a minimum of ‘Second Class Upper’ in the final examinations).


The list of pre-requisites includes:

  1. A requirement to provide information on income for the applicant and/or parent(s).
  2. The offer of scholarship will be subject to acceptance of the terms and conditions of a scholarship agreement with PIDM.
  3. Recipients of the scholarship award will be required to fulfil conditions as set out in the scholarship agreement including, but not limited to, maintaining a minimum ‘Cumulative Grade Point Average’ (CGPA) of 3.00 or achieve a minimum of ‘Second Class Upper’ in the final examinations.

Preference will be given to courses related to digital skills such as computer science, information technology, data analytics, digitalisationartificial intelligencetechnology designprogrammingcyber security and other related courses.
 
Other fields of study such as risk management, actuarial science, banking & finance, statistics, economics, accounting and sustainability will also be considered.

Frequently Asked Questions

No, the PIDM scholarship is only for students who will be pursuing their Degree.

Yes. If there are too many subjects to list out in the form, please fill in your latest or final semester subjects together with your final GPA and CGPA grades.

Just fill in the Degree that you are pursuing and list down your University name. As for the grades, fill in as “N/A” if you do not have any grades yet. 

Yes, you can submit your application without your offer letter. If you are successful in your scholarship application, you will be required to provide us the details. The University and field of studies must be as approved by PIDM. 

Yes, provided that you receive your offer letter of admission from an approved University and field of study by August of the same year. 

You will need to provide other proof of documentation such as a letter pertaining to financial aid from the Government, Zakat donation, cash voucher, Income Tax form, etc., and upload it in the “payslip” field.
