Kuala Lumpur, 15 July 2026: Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia (PIDM) today announced the appointments of Puan Nahidah Usman, To' Puan Janet Looi Lai Heng and Mr Choong Tuck Oon to its Board of Directors.
“As PIDM continues to evolve in response to emerging opportunities and challenges, we are pleased to welcome these three accomplished individuals to our Board. Their experiences and expertise will be invaluable in shaping PIDM’s future direction and ensuring that we remain effective in fulfilling our mandate,” said Datuk Abu Huraira Abu Yazid, Chairman of PIDM.
Puan Nahidah currently serves as Deputy Undersecretary, Strategic Investment Division, Ministry of Finance. She brings extensive experience in strategic investments, finance and investment, public-private partnerships, government procurement and public sector governance, having held various leadership positions within the Ministry of Finance and the Public Private Partnership Unit of the Prime Minister’s Department. She sits on the boards of Amanah Raya Berhad, AmanahRaya Investment Management Sdn Bhd, AmanahRaya Trustees Berhad and the Consumer Credit Commission. Her past board appointments include Malaysian Debt Ventures Berhad and UDA Holdings Berhad.
Puan Nahidah holds a Master in Economics (Human Resource) degree and a Bachelor in Business Administration degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, as well as a Diploma in Public Administration from the National Institute of Public Administration.
To' Puan Janet Looi is the Senior Partner and Head of Corporate at Skrine, and Co-Head of the firm’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Group. Her expertise spans complex mergers and acquisitions (M&A), cross-border transactions, corporate governance, ESG, corporate and commercial law, regulation of banking, insurance and financial services, restructuring and insolvency. She also advises financial institutions and corporations on board governance, directors' duties, senior management responsibilities and regulatory expectations relating to ESG and climate risk disclosures, and has been named distinguished practitioner and leading individual for her takeovers, M&A and cross-border transactions work.
To' Puan Janet holds a Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Laws degrees from Monash University, Australia. She previously served as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad.
Mr Choong Tuck Oon is the Non-Executive Chairman of Credit Guarantee Corporation (CGC) Digital and Independent Non-Executive Director on the Boards of FIDE Forum and ProtectHealth Corporation. He brings extensive experience in financial services, risk management and digital transformation. He spent over two decades with Accenture and also previously held various roles at Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS). His previous board appointments include Independent Non-Executive Chairman of Generali Life Insurance Malaysia Berhad and Independent Non-Executive Director on the Boards of CGC Malaysia Berhad, NTUC Income Insurance Co-operative Limited, Star Media Group Berhad and various entities of the RHB Banking Group.
Mr Choong holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Universiti Malaya, a Master of Science in Computer Applications from the Asia Institute of Technology, and an Executive Diploma in Directorship from Singapore Management University.
Datuk Abu Huraira also conveyed his appreciation to Dato’ Dr Gan Wee Beng, Dato Dr Nik Ramlah Mahmood and Encik Razali Othman, whose terms with the Board have recently ended.
